4.) Driven Hunts, Kwazulu Natal, South Africa

Monterea hunts Umkomaas Valley

The property consists of 12500 hectares (+/- 31 000 acres) of thornveld savannah. The nearest town is that of Richmond. The terrain is very undulating, with numerous drainages and hills, in fact, its safe to say that the country is quite mountainous. There are 3 rivers on the property, the Umkomaas, Pateni and Lufafa Rivers. It is absolutely beautiful country.

Monterea / Driven hunts in this region is what we, our fathers, and grandfathers, grew up with. These hunts were predominantly for bushbuck and duiker. The terrain is extremely well suited to driven hunting using hounds and beaters, in fact, so much so that in some places this is the only method which works.

The Umkomaas valley hunt will form the bulk of the time spent on the safari. Within this area we will arrange a number of different beats, each in a different location.

We have 3 lodges in the area and can accommodate up to 30 people. We traditionally do driven hunts over hounds in the mornings and walk and stalk hunts in the afternoons. We have a pointer and a Labrador available if you want to do casual bird shooting in the afternoon.

2 Day's with sleep over in Durban Beach front all inclusive, overnight in 5 Star Hotel.

1 Day golfing all inclusive, golfing clubs cannot be supplied.

2 Day sightseeing and curio shopping in the Drakensberg Midland Meander, overnight in 5 Star Hotel/spa all inclusive.

Observer rate will be wavered on day trips.

All day trips are done by Carike and can be customized to your needs and

interests. We have a wonderful country with lots to see and do. Other

suggestions for day trips would be elephant back rides, Modjadji cycad

forest trip, est. We pride ourselves that we can customize your trip to fit

your personal preferences and interest.

1.) Limpopo, South Arica (Hunting season April - November)

Our farm is situated in the north eastern part of South Africa in Limpopo province close to the Kruger National Park. Our hunting area depending on what game your hunt consists of 25,000 hectares. We can accommodate up to 20 people. We also have other areas available in close proximity to our lodge. We have a luxury lodge with swimming pool and bar facilities.

2.) Bush Pig Driven Hunt

No Bag limit and can be done on a day trip basis with Limpopo Plains Game hunt.

3.) Bird Hunting

Our family owns 3,000 hectares of prime bird hunting areas in South Africa.

This is an intensive grain farming area were we have very healthy bird populations. Bird hunting is done over pointers and retrievers and needs to be booked separately.

Accommodation is Ranch style house that is fully catered.

This area is only a hour and a half drive away from Oliver Tambo airport which makes this a great arrival or departure stay over for our guests.

We recommend at least 2 days bird shooting at the beginning or the end of their hunt.

No bag limit applies, all license fees included.

Trips to natural hot water springs, spa and health spa.

Shopping trips to Sandton and Pretoria.
